To develop meaningful relationships with the students of St Petersburg, be vocal about the depth of sin and our need for a savior, and encourage a life of humble sacrifice — rooted in Jesus Christ.

Youth Groups

DYNAMOS - Middle School

First & Third Wednesdays of each month - 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM while school is in session.  During those same weeks that "Dynamos' take place, Youth Group on Fridays will be for the High School students only.

SPARK PLUGS - GRADES 4 & 5

2nd & 4th Mondays - 3:15 PM to 4:15PM

MIGHTY SPARKS - Grades 2 & 3

1st & 3rd Mondays - 3:15 PM to 4:05 PM

We believe in equipping leaders at the elementary level, and we’re intentional about developing children with strong, Christ-like character. We inspire our youth to celebrate (join together for after-school fun), relate (deepen our relationships with Christ and each other), and demonstrate (reciprocate God’s love for us to the world around). Elementary School Summer Camp Programs

WHEN: July 16 – 21st

WHERE: Luther Springs in Hawthorne, FL

WHAT: Mini Camp (1st & 2nd grade) Discovers (3rd – 5th grade) – Traditional style camp with archery, swimming, canoeing, daily devotions, camp fire, s’mores, Gaga ball, etc.
Horse Camp (5th grade) – Students will enjoy all that Luther Springs has to offer plus leaving camp to visit a horse program to ride horses, and learn about what it takes to care for horses.

WHO: Camp offerings run by the grade a student has completed at the end of the 2022-2023 school year.

COST: Mini Camp/Discovers Camp – $480 ($150 deposit due at the time of registration) 5th grade Horse camp – $550 ($150 deposit due at the time of registration) These prices go up after March 15th

SIBLING DISCOUNT: A sibling discount is automatically applied to your registration when you register the 2nd child or more in your family. The sibling discount is $35 for each additional child after the first child.

REGISTRATION: Registration for these programs is found by visiting luthersprings.org and searching for “Summer Programs”. You will then click the Registration button and register for the July 16-21st week and one of the above mentioned programs. This week is one of the most popular weeks the camp offers and will be full by January. While registering it will ask you if you are part of a group – please indicate that you are part of Our Savior Lutheran Church so they link you to the group registration. Once you receive your registration confirmation, please let Kristen Hitchcock know that you are registered.

We will be offering fundraisers to help reduce the cost of the program for families. The only portion of the program that cannot be fundraised is the $150 deposit. The remaining amount can be paid for by earned fundraiser money. You earn fundraiser money by both parents and youth participating in fundraisers. The amount of fundraiser money earned is determined by how much money is raised during the year. Any remaining balance that is not covered by fundraiser money becomes the family’s responsibility to cover.

Middle School / High School Summer Camp Programs

WHEN: July 16 – 21st
WHERE: Luther Springs in Hawthorne, FL

WHAT: Ropes & Zip Camp – A high adventure week at camp. Each day campers will experience all Luther Springs has to offer, plus the chance to go off site and experience various High Ropes and Zip Courses. One course will be a night course with black lights and glow sticks.

WHO: 6th – 12th grade (Grade levels run by the student’s grade completed at the end of the 2022-2023 school year)

COST: $615 ($150 deposit due at registration)

High School Summer Mission Week

WHEN: June 18 – 23rd

WHERE: Based out of Faith Lutheran Church, Sarasota, FL.


WHAT: Partnering with Lutheran Disaster Response, we will work alongside those impacted by Hurricane Ian, helping to clean up, repair and rebuild.

WHO: Students who are currently in 9th – 12th grade year. (End of the 2022-2023 school year)

COST: $450 ($75 due at the time of registration + $75 due January 8th) By registering you are committing to pay the full $150 for your spot and understand that the deposit of $150 is non-refundable.

REGISTRATION: The deadline to register for your spot and pay the minimum $75 registration fee is November 30th.

Dave Schneck and Kristen Hitchcock will be the chaperones attending the Mission Trip with the Youth.

Payments for the deposit can be made by cash or check made out to Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Service Events

Our youth served nearly 3,000 hours in the community last year alone! We love Tampa Bay, and make every effort to engage with the great community around us to share our faith and bless others. Join us for new and meaningful service events every month, including partnerships with Ronald McDonald House, Sabal Palms pediatric nursing facility, the Brain Tumor Alliance, the Tampa Bay Rowdies, and other creative groups. Whether you love making meals for our local fire fighters or working with small children, we have a place for you to do something special!

Social Events

We enjoy many off-campus events in our community, from swimming at the beach to rock climbing, concerts, sporting events, Rock the Universe, district retreats, and more.

Youth Trips

Every summer, our youth embark on trips to serve and enjoy fellowship together in different locations. We’ve gone on mission trips to St. Louis, New Orleans, Chattanooga, and have enjoyed the National Youth Gathering in Louisiana and Minnesota. We’re thankful for opportunities to make lifelong memories on these trips!
