Imagine not knowing when your next meal was going to be. Imagine not being able to fall asleep because of stabbing hunger pains. Think about how it must feel to depend on a school lunch, knowing it will be the only food you will receive for the day. Unfortunately, there are students across our community in St. Petersburg and surrounding areas who know exactly what this feels like. We at Our Savior always strive to be of service whenever a need presents itself.
When we realized that food insecurity in St. Petersburg was a major issue that needed addressing, the “Pack-A-Sack” program was created. Donations are contributed to our church and we come together to prepare sacks of food that are handed out to students, without which they would go hungry. Our Savior Church greatly appreciates all who are willing to donate food or their time to assist in this important program. Funding is also appreciated to support this necessary outreach to our community. The funds which are donated are able to supplement the food donations we receive.
Join us in helping to feed students in need. Donations must be non-perishable, and require no refrigeration or cooking/reheating. Items must be individual, sealed packages and easily opened by a child with a pull tab on cans.
Funding is needed to support this important outreach in our community! Funds supplement food donations received. Our annual goal of $30,000 has been established.
