Thanksgiving Basket Food Donation Collection
October 14, 2018
An event every week that begins at 12:00 am on Sunday, repeating until November 4, 2018
The Board of Human Care is asking you to help us fill 150 baskets with food to make a Thanksgiving meal for a family in need. Family recipients will have students from Alpha House, Bear Creek Elementary, Frontier Elementary, Living Love Early Childhood Center at East Bay, and OSLS in St. Pete. That’s quite an endeavor! Buying turkeys for 150 baskets costs around $750, so your monetary gifts are
requested. Food items, such as potatoes, stuffing, vegetables and cranberries will fill the baskets to round out the meal. We realize these can be difficult times for some, but we are hopeful you will want to share your blessings with those in need.
You might consider sponsoring a whole basket for $25.
When out shopping, please pick up some extra food items and bring them to church by Sunday November 4.
Non-Perishable Food Items Needed:
Canned: fruit, corn, green beans, peas, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, and gravy
Boxed: stuffing mix, instant mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, bag or box rice
*Please designate your envelope or check (memo section) to “Thanksgiving Baskets”
The Human Care Board will prepare the food baskets on Sunday, November 11 at 11 am for distribution to designated families that afternoon from 2-4 pm.
Thank you for your support!
