Mission Immokalee Update:
We have checked in with Pastor Karl from the Amigos Center, and thankfully they did not sustain any major damage or flooding from the storm. They are reaching out to their neighbors and areas around to see if there are any special needs that we might be able to assist with in the future.
Since the area continues to have distribution issues with basic food items we are preparing to move forward with our deliveries on October 22nd. Listed below are several ways you can help-VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
Fri., October 14th 9:00 am PackagIng bags of rice and beans
Fri., October 21st 5:30 pm Pack van and trailer
Sat., October 22nd 6:45 am Travel to Immokalee to distribute
On October 22nd we will be bringing our friends at the Amigo Center some essential items and a few Halloween treats. Below is a list of ways you can help. The goal is to provide for 150 families.
* bags of dry pinto beans
* bags of white rice
* bags of flour
* bottles of cooking oil
* individually wrapped candy and small treat bags
There will be a collection box in the church narthex and a sign up sheet if you wish to travel to Immokalee on the 22nd or help pack the van the evening before.
